Resum:
Attribute-based authentication let people prove things about themselves-like their age or nationality-without sharing all their personal details. It is a strong way to protect digital identity, but it also comes with some challenges. In this talk, we will introduce two key systems, U-Prove and Idemix, and explain how they have led to newer methods like Keyed-Verification Anonymous Credentials (KVAC). We will talk about why it is so hard to use these systems in real life and how they are slowly being used in real-world projects, like the EU Digital COVID Certificate and the EU Digital Identity Wallet.
